South Tucson City is a United States city located in the Pima County, Arizona, United States. South Tucson City had an official population of 5490 in 2000. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 6013, making it the 68th most populous in Arizona. The city comprises an area of 1.01 miē (2.62 kmē), making it Arizona's 12th smallest by total area.

As of the census of 2000, there were 5490 people, 1810 households, and 1125 families living in the city. The population density was 5446.6 people per square mile (2102.94/kmē), making it the third most densely populated city in Arizona. There were 2059 housing units at an average density of 2038.6 per square mile (787.11/kmē). The average household size was 2.94 persons, and the average family size was 3.83 persons.
