South San Francisco City is a city located in the San Mateo County, California, United States. As of 2000 the population was 60552. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 62502, It is California's 113th largest by population . The city spans an area of 29.74 square miles (77.03 square kilometre), of which, 9.02 square miles (23.36 square kilometre) of it is land and 20.72 square miles (53.66 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 87th largest by area in the U.S. state of California. It is ranks 11 in the size of its inland waterways in California.
