South Lake Tahoe City, California is a city of the El Dorado County, California, United States. South Lake Tahoe City had an official population of 23609 in 2000. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 23333, It is the 280th largest in terms of population. The city extends throughout a territory of 16.5 mi˛ (42.73 square kilometre ), of which, 10.06 square miles (26.06 square kilometre) of it is land and 6.44 square miles (16.68 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 200th largest by total area in California.
