South Jordan City is a city in the Salt Lake County, Utah, United States. It is home to over 29437 people (2000 census). The city's estimated population as of July 2008 was 51131, It is the 17th largest in terms of population. The city spans an area of 21.03 square miles (54.47 kmē), of which, 20.87 square miles (54.05 kmē) of it is land and 0.16 square miles (0.41 kmē) of it is water, it is the 24th largest by area in the U.S. state of Utah.

As of the census of 2000, there were 29437 people in the city, organized into 7507 households, and 6771 families living in the city. The population density was 1410.6 people per square mile (544.64/kmē), it is the 58th most densely populated city in the U.S. state of Utah.
