South Congaree Town is a town in the Lexington County, South Carolina, United States. The population of town in 2000 stood at 2266 as per the Census data. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 2370, It is the 161st largest in terms of population. It has total area of 3.25 mi˛ (8.42 sq km), of which, 3.22 square miles (8.34 sq km) of it is land and 0.03 square miles (0.08 sq km) of it is water, making it the 176th largest by size in South Carolina.

As of the census of 2000, there were 2266 residents, 890 households, and 652 families in the town. The population density was 703.8 people per square mile (271.74/km˛), making its South Carolina's 175th most densely populated town. There were 1002 housing units at an average density of 311.2 per square mile (120.15/km˛). The average household size was 2.55 and the average family size was 2.95.
