South Carthage Town is a town located in Smith County, Tennessee, in the Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. In 2000, town's population was 1302 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the town is 1357, making it Tennessee's 232nd largest. The town spans an area of 2.68 mi˛ (6.94 sq km), of which, 2.6 square miles (6.73 sq km) of it is land and 0.08 square miles (0.21 sq km) of it is water, it is the 243rd largest by area in the U.S. state of Tennessee.
