Somersworth City is a city in the Strafford County, New Hampshire, United States. In 2000, the population was 11477. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 11967, making it the 12th most populous in New Hampshire. Its area is just over 10.01 sq mi (25.93 sq km), of which, 9.78 square miles (25.33 sq km) of it is land and 0.23 square miles (0.6 sq km) of it is water, making it New Hampshire's 16th largest by total area. It is ranks 19 in the size of its inland waterways in New Hampshire.

As of the census of 2000, there were 11477 people in the city, organized into 4687 households, and 3079 families residing in the city. The population density was 1173.4 people per square mile (453.05/kmē), it would be the 18th most densely populated city in the U.S. state of New Hampshire.
