It is the 26th largest by population in the U.S. state of South Carolina. The census designated place has a total area of 13.9 square miles (36 sq km), of which, 13.37 square miles (34.63 sq km) of it is land and 0.53 square miles (1.37 sq km) of it is water, makes it the 24th largest by total area in South Carolina.
