Snohomish County, Washington is a county located in the Western Region (Pacific) of United States. The population of the county was 606024 as per the 2000 census data. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 683655, making it Washington's third largest county. The county spans an area of 2196.41 mi˛ (5688.68 sq km), of which, 2089.06 square miles (5410.64 sq km) of it is land and 107.35 square miles (278.04 sq km) of it is water, it is the 14th largest in terms of geographical size.

As of the census of 2000, there were 606024 people in the county, organized into 224852 households, and 157820 families residing in the county. The population density was 290.1 people per square mile (112.01/km˛), it is the sixth most populated county in terms of population density. There were 236205 housing units at an average density of 113.1 per square mile (43.67/km˛). The average household size was 2.65 and the average family size was 3.13. In the Snohomish County, 27.4% of the population was under the age of 18, 8.5% were 18 to 24, 33% were 25 to 44, 22% were 45 to 64, and 9.1% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 100.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 98.2 males. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 683655, The racial makeup of the county was 576564 White, 17327 Black or African American, 10326 American Indian, 55666 Asian, 2557 Native Hawaiian, and 21215 from two or more races.
