Smith Valley Cdp is a census designated place in the Lyon County, Nevada, United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 1425 inhabitants. It is Nevada's 23rd smallest by population . Its area is just over 122.55 mi˛ (317.4 square kilometre), of which, 120.55 square miles (312.22 square kilometre) of it is land and 2 square miles (5.18 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the seventh largest by total area in Nevada. It is ranks fourth in the size of its inland waterways in Nevada.
