The census designated place has a population of 3147 as per the 2000 census data. It is the 242nd largest by population in the U.S. state of Michigan. It has total area of 11.67 miē (30.23 kmē), of which, 11.33 square miles (29.34 kmē) of it is land and 0.34 square miles (0.88 kmē) of it is water, makes it the 57th largest by total area in Michigan.
