Skagit County, Washington is a county of the United States of Washington. Skagit County had an official population of 102979 in 2000. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 118000, It is the 11th largest in terms of population. It covers total area of 1920.47 sq mi (4973.99 square kilometre), of which, 1735.14 square miles (4493.99 square kilometre) of it is land and 185.33 square miles (480 square kilometre) of it is water, making it the 18th largest by size in Washington. It is ranks eighth in the size of its inland waterways in Washington.

The population density was 59.3 people per square mile (22.9/kmē), making its Washington's 13th most densely populated county. There were 42681 housing units at an average density of 24.6 per square mile (9.5/kmē). The average household size was 2.6 persons, and the average family size was 3.06 persons. In the county Age distribution was 26.3% under the age of 18, 8.6% from 18 to 24, 26.9% from 25 to 44, 23.6% from 45 to 64, and 14.6% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 98 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 95.7 males. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 118000, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 93% White, 0.78% Black or African American, 2.05% American Indian, 2.01% Asian, 0.23% Native Hawaiian, and 1.92% from two or more races.
