Sioux County is one of the 93 county of Nebraska, located towards the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. The population of county in 2000 stood at 1475 as per the Census data. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 1287, It is the 13th smallest in terms of population. Its area is just over 2067.32 sq mi (5354.33 kmē), of which, 2066.59 square miles (5352.44 kmē) of it is land and 0.73 square miles (1.89 kmē) of it is water, it is the sixth largest in terms of geographical size.

The population density was 0.7 people per square mile (0.27/kmē), making its Nebraska's third least densely populated county.
