Sioux County is a United States county located in the United States of Iowa. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 31589 inhabitants. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 32200, making it the 22nd most populous county in Iowa. The county spans an area of 768.58 sq mi (1990.61 square kilometre), of which, 767.88 square miles (1988.8 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.7 square miles (1.81 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the sixth largest by total area in Iowa.

As of the census of 2000, there were 31589 people in the county, organized into 10693 households, and 8064 families residing in the county. The population density was 41.1 people per square mile (15.87/kmē), it is Iowa's 26th most densely populated county. There were 11260 housing units at an average density of 14.7 per square mile (5.68/kmē). The average household size was 2.71 persons, and the average family size was 3.19 persons. In the county Age distribution was 27.1% under the age of 18, 15.2% from 18 to 24, 23.5% from 25 to 44, 19.1% from 45 to 64, and 15% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 96.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.5 males. Its population was estimated at 32200 in July 2008, The racial makeup of the county was 31637 White, 98 Black or African American, 61 American Indian, 240 Asian, 13 Native Hawaiian, and 151 from two or more races.
