Sioux City City, Woodbury and Plymouth counties, Iowa is a city located in the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. It is home to over 85013 people (2000 census). According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 82807, It is the fourth most populous in the U.S. state of Iowa. Its area is just over 55.95 square miles (144.91 sq km), of which, 54.8 square miles (141.93 sq km) of it is land and 1.15 square miles (2.98 sq km) of it is water, makes it the fifth largest by total area in Iowa. It is ranks 11 in the size of its inland waterways in Iowa.

As of the census of 2000, there were 85013 people, 32054 households, and 21101 families residing in the city. The population density was 1551.3 people per square mile (598.96/kmē), it is Iowa's 111th most densely populated city.
