Silver Bow County is a one of the county from Montana's 56 counties, located in Western Region (Mountain) of United States. As per the 2000 census, county has a population of 34606 inhabitants. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 32803, It is the eighth largest county by population in the U.S. state of Montana. Its area is just over 718.97 sq mi (1862.12 square kilometre), of which, 718.31 square miles (1860.41 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.66 square miles (1.71 square kilometre) of it is water, giving it the smallest by total area among Montana's county.

As of the census of 2000, there were 34606 residents, 14432 households, and 8931 families in the county. The population density was 48.2 people per square mile (18.61/kmē), making it the second most densely populated county in Montana. There were 16176 housing units at an average density of 22.5 per square mile (8.69/kmē). The average household size was 2.32 people, and the average family size was 2.97 people. The population's age distribution was 23.7% under the age of 18, 9.6% from 18 to 24, 26.7% from 25 to 44, 24% from 45 to 64, and 16% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 97.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 96.3 males. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 32803, The racial makeup of the county was 31273 White, 90 Black or African American, 745 American Indian, 187 Asian, 18 Native Hawaiian, and 490 from two or more races.
