Shorter Town is a town located in Macon County, Alabama, in the Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. In 2000, the population was 355. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 374, making it Alabama's 101st smallest. Its area is just over 1.72 mi˛ (4.45 sq km), making it the 100th smallest by size in Alabama.

As of the census of 2000, there were 355 residents, 121 households, and 93 families in the town.
