Shishmaref City, Alaska is a city of the Nome Census Area, Alaska, United States. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Shishmaref City is home to 562 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the city is 560, It is the 98th largest in terms of population. It is spread over 7.27 mi˛ (18.83 sq km), of which, 2.78 square miles (7.2 sq km ) of it is land and 4.48 square miles (11.6 sq km) of it is water, making it Alaska's 85th smallest by total area.
