Shiprock Cdp is a census designated place located in the San Juan County, New Mexico, United States. The population of the census designated place was 8156 as per the 2000 census data. It is the 26th most populous in the U.S. state of New Mexico. It has total area of 16.22 mi˛ (42.01 sq km), of which, 15.88 square miles (41.13 sq km) of it is land and 0.34 square miles (0.88 sq km) of it is water, it is the 24th largest by area in the U.S. state of New Mexico. It is ranks ninth in the size of its inland waterways in New Mexico.
