Shiawassee County is a county in the United States of Michigan. In 2000, county's population was 71687 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 70880, It is Michigan's 26th most populous county. The county extends throughout a territory of 540.73 square miles (1400.48 square kilometre ), of which, 538.73 square miles (1395.3 square kilometre) of it is land and 2 square miles (5.18 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the seventh smallest in terms of geographical size.

For every 100 females there were 96.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.5 males. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 70880, The racial makeup of the county was 97.55% White, 0.48% Black or African American, 0.52% American Indian, 0.31% Asian, 0.02% Native Hawaiian, and 1.12% from two or more races.
