Sherman County, Oregon is a county of the United States of Oregon. Sherman County had an official population of 1934 in 2000. In July 2008, its estimated population was 1638, making it the second least populous county in Oregon. Its area is just over 831.2 square miles (2152.8 square kilometre), of which, 823.21 square miles (2132.1 square kilometre) of it is land and 8 square miles (20.72 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the eighth smallest by area in the U.S. state of Oregon.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1934 residents, 797 households, and 546 families in the county. The population density was 2.3 people per square mile (0.89/kmē), giving it the sixth least densely populated county among the Oregon. There were 935 housing units at an average density of 1.1 per square mile (0.42/kmē). The average household size was 2.43 people, and the average family size was 2.97 people. In the county Population was distributed with 26.4% under the age of 18, 5.8% from 18 to 24, 23.4% from 25 to 44, 26.1% from 45 to 64, and 18.3% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 102.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 105 males. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 1638, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 94.99% White, 0.24% Black or African American, 1.89% American Indian, 0.55% Asian, 0% Native Hawaiian, and 2.32% from two or more races.
