Sheridan County, Montana is a county of the United States of Montana. It is home to over 4105 people (2000 census). According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 3283, It is the 17th least populous county in the U.S. state of Montana. The county extends throughout a territory of 1706.3 sq mi (4419.3 square kilometre ), of which, 1676.58 square miles (4342.32 square kilometre) of it is land and 29.73 square miles (77 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 16th smallest in terms of geographical size.

The population density was 2.4 people per square mile (0.93/kmē), it is 31st most densely populated county in Montana. There were 2167 housing units at an average density of 1.3 per square mile (0.5/kmē). The average household size was 2.29 persons, and the average family size was 2.87 persons. In the county the population was distributed as follows: 22.9% under the age of 18, 4.8% from 18 to 24, 22.2% from 25 to 44, 26.5% from 45 to 64, and 23.6% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 98.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 96.8 males. In July 2008, its estimated population was 3283, The racial makeup of the county was 96.13% White, 0.12% Black or African American, 1.86% American Indian, 0.37% Asian, 0.03% Native Hawaiian, and 1.49% from two or more races.
