Sheridan County is a United States county located in the United States of Kansas. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 2813 inhabitants. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 2510, It is the tenth smallest county by population in the U.S. state of Kansas. The county has a total area of 896.61 square miles (2322.21 sq km), of which, 896.36 square miles (2321.56 sq km) of it is land and 0.25 square miles (0.65 sq km) of it is water, makes it the 31st largest by total area in Kansas.

For every 100 females there were 100.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 95.8 males.
