Sheffield City is a city in the Colbert County, Alabama, United States. In 2000, city's population was 9652 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 9127, It is the 60th largest by population in the U.S. state of Alabama. The city spans an area of 6.59 square miles (17.07 kmē), of which, 6.56 square miles (16.99 kmē) of it is land and 0.03 square miles (0.08 kmē) of it is water, it is the 198th largest in terms of geographical size.

As of the census of 2000, there were 9652 people, 4243 households, and 2713 families living in the city.
