Shawano City is a United States city located in the Shawano County, Wisconsin, United States. In 2000, the population was 8298. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 8666, It is the 89th largest in terms of population. The city comprises an area of 6.04 sq mi (15.64 kmē), of which, 5.97 square miles (15.46 kmē) of it is land and 0.07 square miles (0.18 kmē) of it is water, it is the 105th largest by area in the U.S. state of Wisconsin.

As of the census of 2000, there were 8298 people, 76 households, and 48 families residing in the city. The population density was 1389.9 people per square mile (536.64/kmē), making it the 152nd most densely populated city in Wisconsin. There were 3587 housing units at an average density of 600.8 per square mile (231.97/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.27 persons, and the average family size was 2.91 persons.
