Sharpsville Borough is a borough located in Mercer County, Pennsylvania, in the Northeastern Region (Mid-Atlantic) of United States. The population of borough in 2000 stood at 4500 as per the Census data. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 4100, It is the 317th largest in terms of population. It is spread over 1.41 sq mi (3.65 square kilometre), of which, 1.39 square miles (3.6 square kilometre ) of it is land and 0.02 square miles (0.05 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 559th largest by area in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania.

As of the census of 2000, there were 4500 residents, 1912 households, and 1263 families in the borough. The population density was 3244.3 people per square mile (1252.63/kmē), making its Pennsylvania's 350th most densely populated borough. There were 2016 housing units at an average density of 1450.4 per square mile (560/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.35 persons, and the average family size was 2.94 persons. In the borough Age distribution was 23.6% under the age of 18, 6.8% from 18 to 24, 26.6% from 25 to 44, 22.6% from 45 to 64, and 20.4% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 88.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 81.6 males. The median age of the borough's population was 40.5 years, the median age of male residents at 37.8 and the median age of female residents at 42.9. The racial makeup of the borough was 96.2% White, 2.31% Black or African American, 0.13% American Indian, 0.4% Asian, 0% Native Hawaiian, 0.67% from two or more races and 0.29% Other races.
