Sharpsburg Town is one of the town of Nash, Wilson and Edgecombe counties, North Carolina, located towards the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. As per the 2000 census, town has a population of 2421 inhabitants. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the town is 2405, It is the 231st most populous in the U.S. state of North Carolina. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.91 sq mi (2.36 sq km), making it the 112th smallest by size in North Carolina.

As of the census of 2000, there were 2421 residents, 884 households, and 650 families in the town. The population density was 2646.7 people per square mile (1021.9/kmē), it would be the second most densely populated town in the U.S. state of North Carolina.
