Sharp County is a county located in the United States of Arkansas. Sharp County had an official population of 17119 in 2000. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 17866, making it Arkansas's 43rd largest county. The county has a total area of 606.35 mi˛ (1570.44 square kilometre), of which, 604.35 square miles (1565.26 square kilometre) of it is land and 1.99 square miles (5.15 square kilometre) of it is water, making it the 18th smallest by size in Arkansas.

As of July 2008, the estimated population was 17866, The racial makeup of the county was 96.28% White, 1.44% Black or African American, 0.71% American Indian, 0.17% Asian, 0.02% Native Hawaiian, and 1.38% from two or more races.
