Sevier County is a county located in Utah, in the Western Region (Mountain) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 18842 inhabitants. The July 2008 population estimate is 20014, making it Utah's 14th largest county. The county has a total area of 1918.28 sq mi (4968.32 sq km), of which, 1910.25 square miles (4947.52 sq km) of it is land and 8.03 square miles (20.8 sq km) of it is water, it is the 17th largest by area in the U.S. state of Utah.

As of the census of 2000, there were 18842 people in the county, organized into 6081 households, and 4907 families residing in the county. The population density was 9.9 people per square mile (3.82/kmē), it is 13th most densely populated county in Utah. There were 7016 housing units at an average density of 3.7 per square mile (1.43/kmē). The average household size was 3.03 and the average family size was 3.44. In the county Population was distributed with 34.5% under the age of 18, 10.1% from 18 to 24, 22.9% from 25 to 44, 19.7% from 45 to 64, and 12.9% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 99.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 97.4 males. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 20014, The racial makeup of the county was 19212 White, 75 Black or African American, 447 American Indian, 56 Asian, 19 Native Hawaiian, and 205 from two or more races.
