Sevier County, Tennessee is a county of the United States of Tennessee. Sevier County had an official population of 71170 in 2000. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 84835, It is the 15th most populous county in the U.S. state of Tennessee. It is spread over 597.73 mi˛ (1548.11 square kilometre), of which, 592.29 square miles (1534.02 square kilometre ) of it is land and 5.45 square miles (14.12 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 15th largest in terms of geographical size.

As of the census of 2000, there were 71170 people in the county, organized into 28467 households, and 20836 families residing in the county. The population density was 120.2 people per square mile (46.41/km˛), making its Tennessee's 22nd most densely populated county. There were 37252 housing units at an average density of 62.9 per square mile (24.29/km˛). The average household size was 2.48 persons, and the average family size was 2.88 persons. In the Sevier County, 23% of the population was under the age of 18, 8.3% were 18 to 24, 29.8% were 25 to 44, 26.3% were 45 to 64, and 12.6% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 95.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 92.2 males. Its population was estimated at 84835 in July 2008, The racial makeup of the county was 96.9% White, 1.31% Black or African American, 0.33% American Indian, 0.64% Asian, 0.02% Native Hawaiian, and 0.81% from two or more races.
