It is the 192nd most populous in the U.S. state of Maryland. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the census designated place has a total area of 4.69 sq mi (12.15 sq km), of which, 3.22 square miles (8.34 sq km) of it is land and 1.47 square miles (3.81 sq km) of it is water, it is the 143rd largest by area in the U.S. state of Maryland.
