Sebastian County is one of the 75 county of Arkansas, located towards the Southern Region (West South Central) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 115071 inhabitants. The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 122274, It is the fourth largest in terms of population. It covers total area of 546.04 sq mi (1414.24 square kilometre), of which, 536.24 square miles (1388.86 square kilometre) of it is land and 9.79 square miles (25.36 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the second smallest in terms of geographical size.

As of the census of 2000, there were 115071 people in the county, organized into 45300 households, and 30723 families living in the county. The population density was 214.6 people per square mile (82.86/kmē), it is the second most populated county in terms of population density. There were 49311 housing units at an average density of 92 per square mile (35.52/kmē). The average household size was 2.49 people, and the average family size was 3.04 people. In the county the population was spread out, with 26% under the age of 18, 9.2% from 18 to 24, 29.5% from 25 to 44, 22.3% from 45 to 64, and 13% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 95.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 92.1 males. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 122274, The racial makeup of the county was 85.36% White, 6.55% Black or African American, 1.87% American Indian, 3.59% Asian, 0.09% Native Hawaiian, and 2.54% from two or more races.
