As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 598541, It is Washington's largest by population . The city has a total area of 142.54 miē (369.18 kmē), of which, 83.87 square miles (217.22 kmē) of it is land and 58.67 square miles (151.95 kmē) of it is water, it is the largest by area in the U.S. state of Washington. It is ranks first in the size of its inland waterways in Washington.
