Scottsdale City is one of the city of Maricopa County, Arizona, located towards the Western Region (Mountain) of United States. In 2000, the population was 202705. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the city is 235371, It is fifth most populous in Arizona. Its area is just over 184.43 square miles (477.67 square kilometre), of which, 184.2 square miles (477.08 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.23 square miles (0.6 square kilometre) of it is water, making it the fourth largest by size in Arizona. It is ranks 12 in the size of its inland waterways in Arizona.

As of the census of 2000, there were 202705 people, 90669 households, and 54458 families residing in the city. The population density was 1100.4 people per square mile (424.87/kmē), giving it the 37th most densely populated city among the Arizona.
