In July 2008, its estimated population was 14785, It is the 12th largest by population in the U.S. state of Nebraska. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 5.93 miē (15.36 kmē), of which, 5.88 square miles (15.23 kmē) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 kmē) of it is water, it is the 13th largest in terms of geographical size. It is ranks 17 in the size of its inland waterways in Nebraska.
