Scott County is a one of the county from Indiana's 92 counties, located in Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Scott County is home to 22960 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 23627, making it Indiana's 27th smallest county. The county spans an area of 192.73 sq mi (499.17 kmē), of which, 190.39 square miles (493.11 kmē) of it is land and 2.34 square miles (6.06 kmē) of it is water, it is the fifth smallest by area in the U.S. state of Indiana.

The population density was 120.6 people per square mile (46.56/kmē), it is the 29th most populated county in terms of population density.
