Scott County is a one of the county from Arkansas's 75 counties, located in Southern Region (West South Central) of United States. It is home to over 10996 people (2000 census). It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 11248, It is Arkansas's 15th least populous county. The county extends throughout a territory of 898.09 sq mi (2326.04 square kilometre ), of which, 893.88 square miles (2315.14 square kilometre) of it is land and 4.21 square miles (10.9 square kilometre) of it is water, giving it the ninth largest by total area among Arkansas's county.

The population density was 12.3 people per square mile (4.75/kmē), it is Arkansas's fourth least densely populated county. There were 4924 housing units at an average density of 5.5 per square mile (2.12/kmē). The average household size was 2.52 and the average family size was 2.98. In the county Age distribution was 26.5% under the age of 18, 8.1% from 18 to 24, 26.5% from 25 to 44, 24.2% from 45 to 64, and 14.7% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 98.1 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 103.6 females. The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 11248, The racial makeup of the county was 93.45% White, 0.84% Black or African American, 1.56% American Indian, 2.76% Asian, 0.01% Native Hawaiian, and 1.38% from two or more races.
