The population of the census designated place was 5069 as per the 2000 census data. It is 116th most populous in Massachusetts. The census designated place comprises an area of 4.83 mi˛ (12.51 sq km), of which, 4.09 square miles (10.59 sq km) of it is land and 0.73 square miles (1.89 sq km) of it is water, making it the 109th largest by size in Massachusetts.
