Sayreville Borough is a United States borough located in the Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States. The population of the borough was 40377 as per the 2000 census data. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 42208, It is the 28th largest by population in the U.S. state of New Jersey. It is spread over 18.75 mi˛ (48.56 square kilometre), of which, 15.9 square miles (41.18 square kilometre ) of it is land and 2.85 square miles (7.38 square kilometre) of it is water, making it New Jersey's 14th largest by total area. It is ranks tenth in the size of its inland waterways in New Jersey.
