Sayre City is a United States city located in the Beckham County, Oklahoma, United States. The city has a population of 4114 as per the 2000 census data. The July 2008 population estimate is 4336, It is the 80th most populous in the U.S. state of Oklahoma. The city has a total area of 3.39 mi˛ (8.78 sq km), of which, 3.38 square miles (8.75 sq km) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 sq km) of it is water, it is the 229th largest by area in the U.S. state of Oklahoma.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 4114 people, 1132 households, and 678 families residing in the city. The population density was 1215.9 people per square mile (469.46/km˛), it is Oklahoma's 113th most densely populated city. There were 1399 housing units at an average density of 413.9 per square mile (159.81/km˛). The average household size was 2.2 and the average family size was 2.87.
