Sayre Borough is a United States borough located in the Bradford County, Pennsylvania, United States. As per the 2000 census, borough has a population of 5813 inhabitants. In July 2008, its estimated population was 5440, making it the 236th most populous in Pennsylvania. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of 2.03 sq mi (5.26 kmē), of which, 2.03 square miles (5.26 kmē) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 kmē) of it is water, making it Pennsylvania's 369th largest by total area.

As of the census of 2000, there were 5813 people in the borough, organized into 2529 households, and 1516 families living in the borough. The population density was 2866.8 people per square mile (1106.88/kmē), giving it the 422nd most densely populated borough among the Pennsylvania. There were 2722 housing units at an average density of 1340.9 per square mile (517.72/kmē). The average household size was 2.28 and the average family size was 2.96. In the borough the population is diverse age-wise, with 23.9% under the age of 18, 7.8% from 18 to 24, 28.2% from 25 to 44, 21.9% from 45 to 64, and 18.3% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 85.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 82 males. The median age was 38.9 years, The median age of males and females living in Sayre Borough was 37.1 and 40.6 years respectively. The racial or ethnic makeup of the borough was 5634 White, 36 Black or African American, 10 American Indian, 73 Asian, Native Hawaiian, 51 from two or more races and 9 Ohter races.
