Savannah City is a United States city located in the Chatham County, Georgia, United States. Savannah City had an official population of 131510 in 2000. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 132410, It is the fourth largest by population in the U.S. state of Georgia. Its area is just over 78.11 square miles (202.3 kmē), of which, 74.74 square miles (193.58 kmē) of it is land and 3.37 square miles (8.73 kmē) of it is water, making it Georgia's fifth largest by total area. It is ranks fifth in the size of its inland waterways in Georgia.

As of the census of 2000, there were 131510 people, 51375 households, and 31367 families living in the city. The population density was 1759.5 people per square mile (679.35/kmē), it is 59th most densely populated city in Georgia. There were 57437 housing units at an average density of 768.5 per square mile (296.72/kmē). The average household size was 2.45 persons, and the average family size was 3.13 persons. In the city the population was spread out, with 25.6% under the age of 18, 13.2% from 18 to 24, 28.5% from 25 to 44, 19.5% from 45 to 64, and 13.3% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 112 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 118.2 females. The racial makeup of the city was 51108 White, 75072 Black or African American, 303 American Indian, 1997 Asian, 92 Native Hawaiian, 1714 from two or more races and 1224 Ohter races.
