Savage City is a city located in Scott County, Minnesota, in the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. Savage City had an official population of 21115 in 2000. Its population was estimated at 27692 in July 2008, It is the 40th most populous in the U.S. state of Minnesota. It is spread over 16.52 mi˛ (42.79 sq km), of which, 15.91 square miles (41.21 sq km ) of it is land and 0.61 square miles (1.58 sq km) of it is water, making it the 70th largest by size in Minnesota.

As of the census of 2000, there were 21115 people, 6807 households, and 5721 families residing in the city. The population density was 1326.9 people per square mile (512.32/km˛), it is the 180th most densely populated city in the U.S. state of Minnesota. There were 6994 housing units at an average density of 439.6 per square mile (169.73/km˛). The average household size was 3.1 persons, and the average family size was 3.38 persons. In the city the population was distributed as follows: 35.6% under the age of 18, 4.5% from 18 to 24, 43.5% from 25 to 44, 13.7% from 45 to 64, and 2.6% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 103.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 101.2 males.
