Sausalito City is a United States city located in the Marin County, California, United States. As of 2000 the population was 7330. The July 2008 population estimate is 7158, It is the 509th most populous in the U.S. state of California. It is spread over 2.24 sq mi (5.8 sq km), of which, 1.9 square miles (4.92 sq km ) of it is land and 0.34 square miles (0.88 sq km) of it is water, it is the 309th smallest by area in the U.S. state of California.
