Sauk County, Wisconsin is a county of the United States of Wisconsin. The population of county in 2000 stood at 55225 as per the Census data. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 59013, It is Wisconsin's 25th most populous county. The county spans an area of 848.43 square miles (2197.42 sq km), of which, 837.63 square miles (2169.45 sq km) of it is land and 10.8 square miles (27.97 sq km) of it is water, making it the 36th largest by size in Wisconsin.

The population density was 65.9 people per square mile (25.44/kmē), it is the 27th most densely populated county in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. In the county the population was distributed as follows: 26% under the age of 18, 7.4% from 18 to 24, 29.3% from 25 to 44, 22.8% from 45 to 64, and 14.5% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 97.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 95.2 males. Its population was estimated at 59013 in July 2008, The racial makeup of the county was 97.17% White, 0.52% Black or African American, 1.12% American Indian, 0.41% Asian, 0.02% Native Hawaiian, and 0.76% from two or more races.
