Saugerties Village is a city located in the Ulster County, New York, United States. The population of the city was 4955 as per the 2000 census data. Its population was estimated at 3857 in July 2008, It is New York's 344th largest by population . The city encompasses an area of 2.28 sq mi (5.91 kmē ), of which, 1.84 square miles (4.77 kmē) of it is land and 0.44 square miles (1.14 kmē) of it is water, it is the 487th largest by area in the U.S. state of New York.

As of the census of 2000, there were 4955 people in the city, organized into 1663 households, and 968 families residing in the city. The population density was 2699.7 people per square mile (1042.36/kmē), it is New York's 294th most densely populated city.
