The city's estimated population as of July 2008 was 11762, making it Florida's 278th largest. The city encompasses an area of 3.36 sq mi (8.7 kmē ), of which, 2.38 square miles (6.16 kmē) of it is land and 0.99 square miles (2.56 kmē) of it is water, it is the 463rd largest by area in the U.S. state of Florida.
