The July 2008 population estimate is 2121, making it Alabama's 236th largest. The town extends throughout a territory of 7.39 sq mi (19.14 sq km ), of which, 7.37 square miles (19.09 sq km) of it is land and 0.02 square miles (0.05 sq km) of it is water, making it the 183rd largest by size in Alabama.
