Saratoga County is a county in the United States of New York. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 200635 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 217191, It is the 17th largest county by population in the U.S. state of New York. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 843.71 square miles (2185.2 kmē), of which, 811.84 square miles (2102.66 kmē) of it is land and 31.87 square miles (82.54 kmē) of it is water, it is the 28th largest in terms of geographical size.

As of the census of 2000, there were 200635 people, 78165 households, and 53738 families living in the county. The population density was 247.1 people per square mile (95.41/kmē), giving it the 20th most densely populated county among the New York. There were 86701 housing units at an average density of 106.8 per square mile (41.24/kmē). The average household size was 2.51 and the average family size was 3.01. In the county Population was distributed with 25% under the age of 18, 7.8% from 18 to 24, 31.5% from 25 to 44, 24.2% from 45 to 64, and 11.5% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 97.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.6 males. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 217191, The racial makeup of the county was 206652 White, 3914 Black or African American, 471 American Indian, 3615 Asian, 54 Native Hawaiian, and 2485 from two or more races.
