Sanpete County, Utah is a county located in the Western Region (Mountain) of United States. Sanpete County had an official population of 22763 in 2000. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 25520, making it Utah's 12th largest county. It covers total area of 1602.66 sq mi (4150.87 square kilometre), of which, 1588.11 square miles (4113.19 square kilometre) of it is land and 14.55 square miles (37.68 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 19th largest in terms of geographical size.

The population density was 14.3 people per square mile (5.52/kmē), making its Utah's eighth most densely populated county. There were 7879 housing units at an average density of 5 per square mile (1.93/kmē). It has an average household size was 3.27 persons, and the average family size was 3.68 persons. In the Sanpete County, 33.2% of the population was under the age of 18, 16.4% were 18 to 24, 21.8% were 25 to 44, 17.8% were 45 to 64, and 10.8% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 102.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 100.9 males.
